Memorial Park Cemetery
Bounded
by Sixth & Ninth Avenues, Fairbanks & Cordova Streets,
Anchorage

This
cemetery was the townsite's original graveyard. Some
of the graves are marked by traditional Eskimo upright
whalebones. It is the burial place of a number of well-known
Alaskans, including artist Sydney Laurence. The cemetery
was designated a National Historic Site in April 1993.
